State PTA Honors Superintendent Charles Weis
SAN JOSE, CA -- The California State PTA presented its Honorary Service
Award to Dr. Charles Weis, Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools, at its
110th annual convention last week.
Dr. Weis was recognized for his “service and dedication as a longtime school
leader.” He became Santa Clara County’s superintendent in July 2008, after 15
years as superintendent for Ventura County.
He is a past president of the California County Superintendent’s Educational
Services Association and will assume the presidency of the Association of
California School Administrators later this month. He also serves on the PTA
State Education Commission and is a member of the Sixth District PTA.
